I've cut my grass

 It's halfway through August, the 13th in fact, and I've just cut my grass.

Which is odd, given that in theory we have two weeks of official winter left, but the weather has turned warm and things are beginning to bud and grow with the first of the broad beans poking their heads up,

I'm surprised it's this early, but after a seemingly endless cold spell for the first two months of winter it's nice to feel the warmth of the sun while working in the garden ...
