Getting out ...

Lockdown is easing, the National Parks are open again, and what with bushfires and Covid-19 we hadn't been to our local park, Mount Buffalo for nearly eight months.

Yesterday was a cold crisp day, so we rugged up and drove up to Mt Buffalo chalet.

Actually we went further than that, up to the saddle at the monolith but the track was covered with snow, and stupidly we only had lightweight boots with us, so we retreated to the chalet car park below the snowline.

From there we took a fairly easy walk up the gorge and round Lake Catani. A lot of the rougher sections were overgrown in places and blocked by fallen branches but we managed.

Truly wonderful to get out in the fresh air again ...
