A small blue glass sphere about a centimetre in diameter (shown here with a 5c coin - a bit bigger than an English 5p and about the same size as a US dime - for comparison)
The glass is quite good quality and not full of the bubbles and minor defects seen in nineteenth century recycled glass.
It could be a marble, it could be a clothing weight, I have no idea as to its original purpose...
